coughing fits, nasal drip, and mucus...

hey everyone. i'm a month and two weeks post op and about a week and a half ago if not more i started to have horrible coughing fits - to the point where i was dry heaving sometimes. my surgeon told me to drink more fluids and i'm on pantozol. while my cough is less persistent now, its more gross? - i cough up/spit out mucus with it that has the consistency of egg whites. and im swallowing nasal drip from nasal blockage which is there every time i wake up. getting fluids in is hard enough for me as it is and i feel even less up to it with all this. is it really just because of that?

i'm just very frustrated and wondering how long will this go on, if anyone has been through the same and what helped them through it?
