Surgery tomorrow and the support I have been given by my family and my husbands family is amazing! I'm so excited to start this new journey and I pray for peace during the hard times.

I will be thinking of all the other having surgery tomorrow and those getting ready for surgery.

Good luck tomorrow!!

My surgery is tomorrow 30th as well and I've been on the liquid diet since the 15th. It hasn't been bad, but food isn't really that important. It's more about my health. I'm on Clear Liquids today and just drank my magnesium citrate to clear me out. That stuff is horrible, but choked it down. I'm only taking off Thursday and Friday from work. I work from home for American Red Cross and since I work here at my desk at home, I don't think I will need to take any additional time off. I've always been superwoman, so I will be fine.

My surgery is scheduled for 8:30 am tomorrow, so we have leave our house at 4am to drive the 2 hours to the hospital, but better than spending money to stay in a hotel and not sleep. I'm so ready for tomorrow to be over and keep moving forward.

ok, now the nerves are setting in...all packed and ready to go, just waiting on the phone call to tell me the time! The good news is that after 3 days of liquids I already lost 6 pounds! Taking measurements tonight and weighing in tomorrow! Any other Oct. 30 sleevers getting nervous?

I am also scheduled for 8:30 in the morning...it can't get here soon enough! We only have 45 minutes to drive, so it should be relatively easy to get there. Good luck and we'll talk again on the other side of the surgery!

I'm scheduled to be there at 10 not sure when I'll officially be under and stuff. I think I'm packed? The diet still sucks. My hospital is 30 - 45 minutes away. I hope I'm ready! Not nervous not anything. Still hasn't hit me!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
