anniehip 14 Posted December 13, 2014 Wow you only weigh 172 and are going with gastric sleeve? If I can ask why not do the lap band?
anniehip 14 Posted December 13, 2014 I was told that the more weight I lose the easier it will be to recuperate and heal after surgery. I have been going to Jazzercise everyday since June and doing the 1200 calorie a day. I have decided on the sleeve because it is permanent....I don't ever want to hear someone call me obese. 619Raf 111 Posted December 13, 2014 I see some of you get to have calories during your preop diets, my diet says nothing about calories. I get Protein Shakes for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. And in between I can have Jello, popsicle, and broth. And of course Water, for two weeks.
nairobi78 58 Posted December 13, 2014 (edited) ProtiZyme - Peanut Butter Cookie Quest Multi-Purpose Mix Protein powder unflavored I wanted to know has anyone tried these i bought them today at the Vitamin shop Edited December 13, 2014 by nairobi78
Veronica Page 488 Posted December 13, 2014 @@nairobi78 I have heard people say that the unflavored Protein powder is the easiest powder to handle since it is tasteless. I personally do not any of the powders and have found that I have to lean towards the premade one. Guess good thing about unflavored is if you are taking the time to make your own shakes you can add the powder to it and just taste the ingredients you added. Good luck and let us know how that goes. Veronica Page 488 Posted December 13, 2014 So I've been in a bit of a slump the past two days and it has been really hard for me to get on task. I took one day off from working out cause i was literally hurting from my toes to my head from the intense workouts and today I got up late so I didn't get to work out this morning and feel like me day is a waste. I def don't want this to get me down but when I have been able to walk three miles by this time of the day it is really a bummer!
mduffield 252 Posted December 13, 2014 Anyone struggling with Water intake? It's def my hardest battle!! Water in large amount makes me nauseous. THE CURE??? Lemon juice!! Add a few drops ( or several! ) to your water bottle. It's refreshing and way more enjoyable to drink, without costing you calories. I'm also not a fan of artificial sweeteners...I've been downing water really well and feel great afterward. Thought I'd share. ????
DaiDai 31 Posted December 14, 2014 I was already given a surgery date of January 7 prior to my insurance approval. I had my final nutritionist appointment on Tuesday, the surgeons office submitted everything to CIGNA on Wednesday and I received a call from my surgeons office informing me that the surgery was approved on Friday. I'm getting super excited and I'm feeling extremely confident that I will be successful. The pre-op diet on the other hand is less than desired but I'm supposed to begin that on December 23rd. There is no specific weight loss requirement just the need to reduce my fatty liver. I haven't bought anything in preparation out of fear that I may be denied so now that I've been approved it's time for me to settle on Multi Vitamins, Calcium, B12 and Protein Shakes to get me through the first two weeks after surgery-I think I'm going to go with Premier Protein from costco.< /p>

sleevydreams 48 Posted December 14, 2014 @@time for june! I love that!! @@DaiDai I'm also scheduled for January 7th. I don't have a specific weight loss requirement before surgery, just a liquid diet to shrink liver, but I was instructed to start 10 days before surgery instead of 14...I guess just different surgeons have different preferences, but I am considering doing 14 just to be in the safe side. I want to make this as uneventful of a surgery as I possibly can.
