Well I learned today that I'm borderline diabetic. So glad I'm already approved. Hopefully we can nip this in the bud in January Lord willing.

I am scheduled for January 20th! I am getting all pre-op work done on Saturday, but my scope does not happen into 1/9. I am glad I will be able to enjoy holiday food (in moderation) and then I start the liver shrinking diet 2 weeks prior to surgery.

I really hope that everyone stays in constant contact with each other. I'm trying to rally some people that have had sleeve surgery in my area together for a lil support group, Today I did not eat great but since I have already lost 11lbs in 9 days I'm not going to beat myself up about it. I can only control so much and everything in moderation is ok. Tech I'm not even having to do a pre op diet I'm choosing to do one and I'm pretty proud of myself!

I do not have a surgery date yet but hoping for January. Tomorrow I have my last appointment for my 3 month plan I had to follow for my insurance and my information will be submitted to my insurance. I really hope I get approved with no problems and quick I am very ready for a change. I have also been trying the Protein Shakes for Breakfast only (baby steps), I gave up my Dr . pepper cold turkey and that was very hard 2 months without out. I have my kids and husband as my support system, and as much as I love them and am thankful I feel like sometimes they just don't get it, they have no weight issues, I am very happy that I have found this group. ????

Well just got back from my appointment and who is down 12lbs? This chick right here and I feel awesome about that I know it is cause I'm basically eating nothing and don't get me wrong I'm STARVING but hey I just know that if I go into surgery with a lower body weight that it means I have less to lose and I think that is something great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
