My NUT and doc both said no gum. You swallow air when chewing gum, and could cause problems post sleeve and bypass.

My nutritionist said absolutely no gum. Like someone just mentioned, you do swallow air while chewing. I've thought about sugar free candy, but am not sure if that is okay.

My NUT said no gum post-op because if it accidentally gets swallowed, it wont pass through the sleeve. & also gas

My NUT said the same thing about accidentally swallowing gum.
