Has anyone noticed an increase in energy? My surgery is a couple of days away and I;'m hoping to have more energy to get things done. It feels like I'm always tired.

You will be pretty worn out the first several weeks after surgery. I'm noticing now at 2 months out and 34 lbs down I have quite a bit of energy. I also walk 5 days a week and am joining a gym this week now that the weather is turning. Good luck and good healing with your upcoming surgery :)

Force yourself to exercise once your surgeon gives you the go ahead. It increases your metabolism and you will have new found energy...it's awesome!

YES! Before surgery it took all my energy to make it through life and I lived every hour of that life tired. Now I can sleep 7 hours and be perfectly rested all day. Never even considering a nap. That effect is better than even the weight loss itself.

@@Sunnyskies2283 that's what I am hoping to have happen to me. I didn't notice how tired I've become since putting on all of this weight. i can't wait for it to be gone!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
