It stinks. I'm 16 days post op and haven't lost a pound in 5 days. Is this my first stall? Its bringing up old memories of past diet attempts where nothibg worked and now I feel like I went to my last resort and its not working. I know it will and I will stay the course. I am visiting my sister this weekend and there are lots of e akks and activities on our itinerary so maybe that will push me through.

I have gone out with my boyfriend and his baby and family, to eat several times since surgery. I get the Soup and usually just pick at it. But I enjoy just being out and the convo mostly. Do I want to go face first in the pizza at bertuccis? Sure do, but I think about the pain it would cause and then I'm all set.

@BitterSweet* In response to your comment I respectfully want to say this to you... PLEASE don't do this to yourself. Making the comment, "I fully expect to feel this way after surgery" is setting yourself up for failure. Stop telling yourself something negative. Speak POSITIVITY to yourself!

I just posted a topic which starts out "This may sound a little harsh...". Please take a moment and read it. I hope that it will be a blessing to you.

I'm praying positivity and success into everyone that reads these threads. We all need to encourage each other to believe the positive, and fight against the negative.

I was the same way. I was liquid two weeks pre-op and four weeks post-op. It sucked and it was hard. But the results I have now make it worth it

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
