Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital, through ALSA

Recommended Posts

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this hospital! My brother, and two women at my work, had their weight loss surgeries done there.

Did anyone else go through ALSA and have their surgery there??

I'm going thru ALSA and having my surgery there on 12/16. So far I couldn't be more happy with ALSA, very happy I found them! And I took my nutrition class at Fresno Heart & surgical Hospital...very nice place!

They are WONDERFUL!!

I went to the seminar and group nutrition class at the hospital. I love how everything is done within the same area!! The only appointment I had to make myself was with my gyno, and I did that in Hanford since it's closer to me than Fresno is.

Dr. Boone is a great surgeon (easy on the eyes too), and I've heard nothing but great things about the other surgeons too. My night and morning nurses were so sweet; I loved them.

I am from Hanford and will be having surgery with Dr Boone as my physician. It was submitted to insurance this past week. I hope to have surgery by the end of December.

Thank you Crystal88. I received a call this morning from Brenda. I have been approved and scheduled for surgery on December 18th. Can you tell me what all you had to do the day you went in for your pre-op? When did they tell you what your out of pocket to them would be or do they bill insurance first?

I am excited and nervous at the same time.

My pre-op was on 10/28. I met briefly with Dr. Boone and he confirmed I was getting the gastric sleeve surgery, told me what he was going to do, and how long it would take. He will also give you a chance to ask any questions you have. Then I headed downstairs to the Diagnostic testing office and had blood drawn, and they provided me with a wash that needs to be used the night before and morning of your surgery.

My insurance was billed, but I still received the bill in the mail. They are VERY good about letting you know if you have to pay anything out of pocket.

My entire process - all the appointments and the surgery- cost over $70,000 and I paid less $100, which was $25 here and there for office visits

I'm doing very well!! I struggled remembering to take my Vitamins during week 2; i didn't even really start until week 3, but I've been good about that. getting my Fluid (mainly water) intake has been a challenge. They will tell you that you need to take in 64 ounces of Fluid, but I have yet to achieve that. On a good day, I get in about 46 ounces; on a bad day, about 8 ounces. And during those bad days, I feel light headed.

I've lost 26 pounds so far, which I think is amazing for being a month out!

I'm just starting out with ALSA, with Higa. My primary doc said that Higa was the only doc he would let me go to. I know some people who have gone there as well, and are very happy with their experience.

My first appointment was earlier this week, and I go to the evening nutrition class this coming Tuesday.

Hi Tiffany! Come find me on Tuesday! I have super short (like one inch) mostly-gray hair... I'm pretty hard to miss.

Good luck ladies!!

Who is speaking at it? Dr. David spoke at the group Nutrition class I went to, and everyone had a great time. He is a great person to be around!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
