Any 400 lbs or more sleeves?

Recommended Posts

My peak weight in May 2014 was 464. Lost 57 before my surgery on Oct-13 and as of last Monday lost an additional 10 lbs.

Curious if anyone out there was or is in my same situation. Ie. ~250 lbs to lose.

Thanks,

Ken

Hey all..was at 405 lbs...with current weight at 395 and the surgery is set for Nov. 20th. I'm shooting for 275 lbs. as a goal weight but everyone I talk with says I'll likely hit 220-240. One woman even thought I'd hit 190 but I don't believe I'll get that low. I want to look healthy.

Yep. On the good side, we can wrack up some big monthly losses. On the bad, we have a huge amount to lose.

I am having some uncertainty about my proper target weight. The lowest I have ever been as an adult was 240. That was good, but not thin. The tables say 170-180, but that is inconceivably low. For now, I am just shooting for 240. Once I get there I will reevaluate.

I'm happy to report I'm no longer a member of the 400's club. I'm not 385 and happy that its been 8 years since I have weighed this weight. I wish I knew more of my weight milestones as the years went on. Its like turning back the clock on my life.

Bigjoey, what type of exercises were you doing at 385? I'm looking for ideas. My friends are recommending cross fit but my mind is saying low impact.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
