So how much have you lost weekly

Recommended Posts

After my first couple of weeks when I lost more, I was loosing monthly 10 pounds for months 2 thru 5. Month 6 I lost 8 and I am still working on month 7. The closer I get to my goal the slower it gets. I dont look at it weekly since it changes with my girly cycle during the month from week to week. I measure by my clothes and the sizes keep going down. From size 20 to 8 so far.

I was averaging about 10 lbs a month, but If I check my last 30 days as I am still in month 7. I have only lost 5 lbs. Anyone else experience slow weight loss after month 6? Will it get better and what steps you took?

Remember what I said? The closer you get to goal, the slower the losses are. You've done remarkably well so far. I'm sure as long as you continue with whatever you are doing, you will reach goal weight.

Thanks , I reduced down on the carbs and alcohol and kept up my workout routine. I lost 10 lbs this month again instead of the 5lb. 19lbs to my goal. :)

I'm also slowing down. The first month I lost weight so fast!!!! Now I'm losing 1-2 pounds a week and I'm still far away from my goal.

Hi everyone!

I started off weighing (117.9 kgs) 260 lbs on the day of surgery (26th of April 2015).

I dropped 25.5 lbs in the 1st month, 12.8 lbs the 2nd month, and it slowed down to 6.8 the 3rd month.

The 4th month, my weight loss increased a bit to 9.7 lbs and the last for now, I lost 12.1 lbs in my 5th month.

I have to add the fact that my doc put me back on 2000 mg of Glucophage for my PCOS problem and that helped boost my weight loss. Not recommending it if you do not need it for medical reasons cause it does make you hate life from the nausea and it makes you cranky and not in the mood for anything for a while until your body gets used to it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
