I've got two more days till I'm sleeved and I'm nervous, scared, and excited all at the same time. I can't wait for this to be over. The unknown is the scary part. I keep playing the "what if" game. But on the bright side, I'm feeling better than I have in years. I've lost 18 pounds and haven't been this weight in 17 years. Can't wait to continue the journey with a smaller stomach. At this point, I don't even mind the pre-ope diet. It really does get better every day. Yesterday I actually forgot to have my lunch shake and didn't remember it until I went to log dinner in MyFitnessPal.

Well, thanks for listening. I think I just needed to vent to some people who would understand.

Blessings and good health!

I'm not as close as you are, but having those same feelings. I know without a doubt that this is the best course for me, but I do the "what if" thing. Try to stay positive and keep us posted. Prayers up for your journey.

I'll be getting sleeved on Wednesday and I have all of the same feelings you do. I know I won't be able to sleep Tuesday night because I'll be so anxious and afraid to oversleep. Good luck and keep us posted!

Hey everyone. I was sleeved on Monday and I came home yesterday. I was scared but very anxious. The staff was amazing. Everyone took such great care of me. The drugs were great and I was in no pain until late Monday night when the gas pains started. OMG!! That was the worse pain I'd ever had, including labor. When they finally gave me something for the gas, it was great. Doctor says I'm healing beautifully. I made it home yesterday at around 5 and home is the best place for recovery. Once I got home I was able to sleep without the doctors and nurses prodding and poking. Today woke up feeling really good, just a little sore.

Can't eat but I'm not hungry at all. It's amazing. I never thought I wouldn't be thinking about food. Yesterday I was able to get down about 2 ounce of broth and 3 ounces of Protein. Today I have only gotten down 7 ounces of Protein. My new stomach spasms every time I take a drink (including the pain meds) but it's not really that bad. Doctor says it gets better every day.

Just wanted to share with everyone, it's not bad. None of the "what ifs" happened. The worse part was indeed the gas and it was only about an hour.

Blessings and good health!

I'm on day 4 which means evening of the second day at home.

The rate of change in my sleeve since I arrived home is drastic and today I have had no difficulty in getting in my 2 litres of water/protein.

Soreness has mostly all gone and I walked a good 1/4 mile this afternoon. You're right home is the best place to recuperate!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
