My date is December 29. I'm getting very nervous even considering changing my mind. My dad, and all my other family members keep telling me I don't need the surgery and I just need to work with a nutriionist/eat less and exercise more. So we'll see what happens but for now I'm on for the 29

@@WRIGHTLE I feel amazing! shocked about how well I feel. I haven't taken any pain meds and was only given iv tylenol at the hospital. I get my drain out in the morning. was sore for about 3 days. now it's just lingering gas pains (tolerable). I'm able to get in all my liquids and tomorrow i graduate from clears to full (thank jesus!!!!!!) I have to keep telling myself to relax and that I just had major surgery! I want to clean the house lolol

That's great!! I was done on the 18th and I feel great as well having a little trouble getting all my Protein and liquids because I'm not hungry or thirty so I always feel like I'm forcing myself. I haven't taken any pain medicine either. You have to tell me you secret on the liquids

wow congrats @@WRIGHTLE!!! good for you. honestly I don't feel the restriction when I'm drinking. I can take the 4oz in an hour. I'm not sure if mine is just a little bigger or I tolerate it better. when I go to postop tomorrow I'm gonna ask bc I don't like that I don't have restriction lol but yes. plenty of nectar Protein, Water, sugar free koolaid drops... I live with a water bottle in my hand

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
