Avenever... It was through Unity Pointe Weight Loss.. They are amazing! I went to Campbells Nutrition yesterday and they recommended a drink ..26 grsms of Protein. It was really good but got it home and found out it had 26 Grams of sugar and real cream.. Don't think I was supposed to have that :) How long has it been since you had surgery... How much have you lost? How are you geeling?

Rosemary- hello I have lost about 35lbs. I feel like it's mostly because I barely eat. I mean I see how much people are able to eat on this site and I don't think I'm even at half of what they are yet.

Rosemary I had my surgery 12/28. I've lost 25... Which came off in the first three weeks. I haven't lost any since so feeling a bit frustrated but trying to focus on the positive. I've been incredibly sick... Seem to catch everything that floats past me. That's said I also am moving around so much better already. Start 315... Current 290. Also dealing with trying to figure out my hunger and fullness levels. It's weird but not positive I'm feeling either. How about everyone else?!

Hello everyone,

I started with a weight of 337 pounds I am 5'3 ....I had my surgery on December 9th 2016 with Doctor Louisiana Valenzuela. surgery weight was 326 to date I am down to 293 pounds. A total loss of 44 pounds. I can only take in about 3oz of food at a time anything more and I throw it right up. My stomach is very picky these days, some days I can eat anything and some days it is just not having it. I do prep most my meals my self and some days I eat out with friends. I wouldn't say I have been on a very strict diet. I eat a lot of ground turkey and rice, mash potatoes or cream of chicken with ground turkey and veggies. i can't get down anything to heavy the softer foods just go down easier if I eat solid Proteins I can't get down 3 ozs for some reason. For me I believe the portion size of the meals are what is causing my rapid weight loss. I have been doing Very light work outs. Today marks my 9th week. I start back with my trainer on Friday I can only imagine how much faster the weight will come off with a steady workout schedule. Wish me luck!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
