jenn2752781 13 Posted October 25, 2014 My surgery is November 5th so I am trying to decide on which mix to get thinking about going for the "whey Protein powder" unflavored cause I have never been big on milky drinks...has anyone tried it? Will it taste funny in juice or if I add it to yogurt or pudding?
carolk36 142 Posted October 25, 2014 There are hundreds of whey Protein powers to choose from. The best thing to do is to get samples from different companies and try them. Don't buy a lot before surgery because your taste and tolerance might change. I've used unjury and Premium chocolate shakes, and for me, both are very hard to take. They have a very strong whey taste and smell and they are very sweet.I discovered GENEPRO Protein from theses board and that's all I use now. You can find it at Amazon.com and the company websit a Muscleglen Research. It is odorless, tasteless, and can be mixed in hot liquids and most anything. Best of luck on your surgery! jenn2752781 13 Posted October 25, 2014 Went into GNC yesterday and didn't see any that were in little packages just to try..do I have to ask for them?
Larly109 19 Posted October 25, 2014 Some nutrition shops will sell you small samples to try out different Proteins. I have a NutriShop in my town and they sell small samples to try before you buy a huge tub. I have also found that mixing flavors can cut down on the sweetness and change the taste. My favorite mix is Protein Synthesis - Protein Powder Caramel Pretzel and Pure Protein chocolate - one scoop of each and the flavor is great, plus a full scoop of each adds up to over 50 grams of protein in one shake. I use 20 ounces of Water and sip over the course of 2-3 hours. For a change, I will sometimes add a banana and/or a small teaspoon of Peanut Butter. Sometimes I reduce the water and add ice to the mix.
mg22fpb 6 Posted October 25, 2014 The Vitamin Shoppe has clear Protein that tastes like juice. I like the grape or orange flavored. I pour it over ice. Easier to get down and after surgery I needed the variety. I got tired of everything tasting milk like.

BypassKrista 9 Posted October 27, 2014 I'm an organic girl and i try not to take things with aspartame or other harmful chemicals in it. I would strongly suggest raw Protein unflavored for weight loss . It has 45 grams of protein in one scoup. Plus after sugery, the major key to your weight loss is protein, Vitamins , and Water for the first two weeks so why not have the best? Comes with a green top and can be found at Vitamin shop or whole foods.
pjhoyt 14 Posted October 28, 2014 Unflavored Isopure Protein powder sprinkled on everything, especially stirred in my yogurt. No flavor and no grot, stir it in well and you won't even know it's there. Big help in increasing protein intake. ????
