I had my surgery on October 20th and have been really nauseous since. I cannot drink anything without it making me feel nauseous. I get really bad what seems like hunger pains but I cannot drink anything easily. I have spoken to all of my medical people and they all say it is normal but it it has been five days and I cannot take it anymore. BAsically can only keep sugar free ice pops down. Any suggestions?

It is common to be nauseous after the surgery...but if you are not getting anything down, the doctors office should see you ASAP, you may need a "fill up" and be dehydrated! INSIST to see the doctor, if you have to, becaude dehydration is a very bad thing!

Try some ginger...they say to use the ginger tablets or a slice under your tongue... I've never tried it, but the books say that helps.

Good luck, feel better!

I think you should call your surgeon. They can give you meds to suppress nausea.

I agree. You need to contact your doctor and insist on being seen. If you're not able to get enough fluids, it can lead to dehydration.

Are you taking something for acid reflux?

I'm 4 days out and no nausea here. My doc prescribed anti nausea meds to take as needed. Definetly address this with your doc ASAP, there's no reason you should be suffering.
