cheryl2586 3,053 Posted October 24, 2014 A sleep study was not required for me they would only do it if your doctor feels you have sleep apnea. I don't know about the center you are having it done at but I wouldnt worry about the sleep study.
stay75 10 Posted October 24, 2014 Thanks for getting back to me
TheDude84023 19 Posted October 24, 2014 It was not required for me since I had a BMI over 40 but if I had a 35-40 I would likely have to have it because you have to have 2 comorbidities for approval in that range
Bandora 136 Posted October 24, 2014 I had to do a sleep study because I exhibited symptoms of sleep apnea. I was fortunate to do an in-home study for 2 nights. I am not sure I would have been comfortable in a sleep clinic setting. It was a requirement for the AETNA policy I had at the time of surgery.
stay75 10 Posted October 24, 2014 I think it's a requirement for me. The place is about 1 hour away from my house and it's from 9pm-5am. I'm sure I'm not going to be able to sleep either. My BMI is at 41. Oh well I guess I will do it and get over it ha. Thanks.
