5 months out...no food sounds good to me!

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I get hungry but NOTHING sounds good or tastes good. As a result I find myself not eating and yet still not dropping any weight really. Trying to just force myself back into the 3 meals (regardless of how much) and eating Protein first. Any suggestions other than "Just do it!" LOL

I am a month away from being a year out and I go through days and weeks to which I do not want to eat anything because I am not hungry. Then I reach days and weeks where all I want is either junk food. I am still trying to find a middle.

2 months out here and I am going through the same thing! Yesterday I probably only had 400 calories and very little Water cause I just wasn't "feeling it". I just chalk it up to a couple of bad days and try to do better the next. Some other days I feel like I can eat ALL DAY! I'm still trying to find my way in this kooky process! Hope it helps to k of you are not alone :)

I am only 7 weeks but no food appeals to me. shakes are repulsive but I try to get them down. I eat nuts and cheese to get food in because they cause no tummy problems. Yogurt and Beans also work fairly well for me. meat tastes so horrible and makes me feel ill, even a few tiny bites of chicken. It's amazing to go from a meat-sugar addict to not having any desire whatsoever for food. The good thing is I am starting to enjoy the freedom from the addiction, and am not missing food anymore. I think the monkey is off my back!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
