aunger07 15 Posted October 23, 2014 So my son want to go to the state fair. This is the last week for it. My surgery date is Nov. 14th, and I started my pre-op diet of protien shakes, bars, Soup, and lots of Water last week. Would it be hurtful is I got one thing to eat while at the fair (preferably the onion blossom) or should I just stay away from the food competely? I already gave away my chocolate popcorn I ordered from my son's fundraiser. There is a lot of walking too at the fair. I should probably just stay away right? Nicole Cloud 39 Posted October 23, 2014 if you have already started your pre op diet I would stay away from it just so you don't jeopardize having your surgery pushed back it is not worth it
alwaysvegas 702 Posted October 23, 2014 There will still be food available after your surgery. Best to follow 'the plan' that your surgeon/nutritionist have prescribed. Best of luck!
VSGfor150 13 Posted October 23, 2014 My date is 11/14 too! I will be on vacation in San Diego when I start my pre-op diet. I'm just thinking of the money that I'll save from not eating out at restaurants during that time. Good luck!
ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted October 23, 2014 should probably just stay away right? @@aunger07 if you would be tempted by other foods/smells - i would stay away from the fair you are pre op - IF you could have that ONE onion blossom and stop - go for it if you want to show your "strength" to yourself of not eating the onion blossom at the fair, thats cool too sometimes abstinence is best November 14th will be a great day to start your healthier, happier, longer life good luck speedy recovery kathy
aunger07 15 Posted October 24, 2014 So I did it. I made it through the fair without eating anything. All I did was just drink Water. Everything smelled so good but I just kept telling myself that next year I will be thinner and will be able to ride more rides with my son. I wont have that excuse I am to big to fit on the ride.
