Brandy, Ok, now I'm really getting excited! You are right, I can do this! I can't wait to see the results. That must be so exciting for you to already be in smaller clothes so soon after surgery! Thanks for your words of encouragement and for sharing your experience with me....everyone has been awesome!

TZT heres an update. I went to the PS today and he told me that I could go back to work tomorrow. Of course, I decided to finish the week out of work. I am driving and walking much better and like everytone has said you can do this . Overall I think that this went smoothly. good luck with your surgery and please keep in touch.

OMG! Already? Wow, this is awesome news. One thing I was really worried about is that the school year would begin with me still hunched over in pain. I teach emotionally disturbed teens and need to be at the top of my game, so to speak. Best of wishes to you and a million thanks for helping (and spydr and Brandy as well). Pictures anytime soon????

I'm a teacher too. I work with 5th grade difficult students. I WISH I had taken off more time. I really should have used two weeks. IF you can... take two weeks!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice. Are you happy with your surgery? I am teaching summer school until July 18, having surgery July 19 and do not have to return to school until Aug 19th ish. So I'll have a few weeks off. I was so afraid that 4 weeks wouldn't be enough but people on this thread have helped to ease my mind soooo much! I'm very grateful to you all!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
