*Lexie* 1,486 Posted October 21, 2014 I survived my first stall. It was a long two weeks of that scale not budging. I hope it's a nice long time before this happens again.

itsjessica 15 Posted October 21, 2014 That's so reassuring to hear. My scaled has been stuck for a week ???? and I'm only 3 weeks post op. Did you do anything differently or change things up that may have helped the stall?

Did you do anything differently or change things up that may have helped the stall? Hey Jessica, Here's my blurb on that... Congratulations! You have reached The Dreaded Week-3 Stall. It's perfectly normal, and just about all of us have suffered through it. You're not crazy, and your doctor didn't screw up. In fact, you might not lose any weight for two weeks or more. But don't worry -- after that, the weight will start falling off if you stick to your program. If you're interested, here's a good article that explains why it happens and why we all have to go through it. Hang in there. Pretty soon it'll be in the rear-view mirror and you'll be dropping weight again like crazy! (Apologies to BP regulars who have seen this repeatedly, but it's a big deal to those who are going through it!)
sleeversue 93 Posted October 21, 2014 I hit the four month stall and haven't lost much in 6 weeks. But I am staying on program, exercising, and no losing faith. I've talked to several nurses about it and they assured me this happens.

SimplySue 131 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) @@Rogofulm - thank you, I had not seen that & appreciate it-I am not quite 2 weeks out & have lost 15 lbs so far, it's good to be prepared. Edited October 22, 2014 by SimplySue
amazon 579 Posted October 22, 2014 congrats on breaking the stall! I just broke my first stall too. I'm 9 weeks out and hadn't lost anything since around week 5. I was in that place where I wondered if the surgery worked of me. But it's over (yay) and I have faith that this works, even for me :-) I think I'm better prepared to face the next stall. BellaLuce4 261 Posted October 22, 2014 Great article thanks! I am 5 1/2 weeks out and just came out of a 2 week stall. I wasn't worried because everyone keeps talking about it, but did not understand the physical reason so thank you for sharing. Now 6 lbs just melted away in under a week???????? I'll get an occasional 1-1.5 drop, but then nothing for another week or so. It's tough sledding, but we know this is part of the process. Just waiting for the roller coaster to start down again.
