So I've read that your feet shrink as the pounds are coming off...(I'm assuming they get thinner and less swelling )

So I'm curious to know how many people went down in shoe size after WLS?

Nope, just feet getting slender. I have a few shoes that just float on my feet nowerdays. Not comfortable at all so I have started buying new shoes. I'm also taking some to shoe repair to see if they can tighten the slingbacks. Otherwise, new is the new me these days.

My are getting more slender. At some point I will have to discard all of my wide shoes which have a sloppy fit now, even with thick socks.

I put on a pair of socks yesterday that are about ten years old. The no show type? There was probably a half inch from the back of my foot to the sock loose! My shoes are sloppy but broke in and ugly and comfortable. I hate breaking in new shoes. Crocs are my fav. I bought the orange Chef Mario Batelli crocs and they are pretty loose. For me, I paid a lot for them so I'm wearing the cussing things!!!

I was shocked when I went shopping for sneakers, I no longer needed to buy wide width. The new narrow width gave me so many more options I may become a shoe girl and buy all the latest styles! LOL

I went from a 8W ( wide) to a 6.5 ???? I am 6 months out. I just donated TONS of shoes :)

you just made me very happy! I wear a 8 w but my feet are so short! They're very wide and thick. I'm I go down just like you. Though I can fit into kid tennis shoes.

Sadly, I still wear an 8.5 or 9. My calves are now 15 inches instead of 16, and my ankles have gone from 9 to 8 inches. I have flat feet. So I'm not sure they will get any skinnier. Even when I hit my goal weight, I doubt my arches will come back!

I had such high hopes for a smaller shoe size. However, I started at s 9.5 and I'm still at a 9.5.

I've lost two sizes on my feet since losing weight - and i'm not at goal yet.. doubt they will get any smaller though as they are smaller now than when I got married at age 18 and I was 30lbs lighter then than I am now!

I've been wearing 11s for a while, but I think I was really a 10 1/2 wide. Now 10s usually fit. This is beyond feet, but I bought some boots last week - and not wide-calf! That was a total NSV for me. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
