Toodie1974 39 Posted October 20, 2014 I go for my 3rd weigh in tomorrow and I am so afraid, I have gained weight instead of maintaining my weight where it is. Have anyone on the supervised weight loss program with BCBS insurance gained weight? How did it work out?
Shiloh0772 57 Posted October 20, 2014 I don't have BCBS, but I gained wait every month until this month. I had my final weigh-in this morning & lost 8lbs. They were very reassuring, though & told me that it is normal to gain weight in the beginning of the process. For me, I felt that I needed to eat everything I could while I was able to. I just needed them to suggest exercise. I knew I needed it, but I actually needed them to recommend it... Because then I felt it was real.
stephh 634 Posted October 20, 2014 I gained weight overall during my six month supervised weight loss plan with BCBS of Michigan. With BCBSM, they don't process your claim until after your surgery and there is not pre-qualification given by the insurance company. I had to follow their (BCBSM) rules. The dietician I see said they only MIGHT ask to see the weigh ins, the psych evaluation, and every thing else, but my claim would probably get approved without showing them any of the information my Drs office collected. She also said people will get approved with up to a 20 pound gain, and has never seen anyone not get approved with anything less then 20 pounds. All of that being said, I think every state might have a different BCBS policy.
Toodie1974 39 Posted October 20, 2014 Since I started this weight loss program, I can't get full. I am hungry every 2 or 3 hours. Before it wasn't like this for me, I don't know what's going on.
Toodie1974 39 Posted October 20, 2014 Yes Steph, I am pretty sure BCBS insurance policies vary state to state. I just wish I knew for sure about this program.
stephh 634 Posted October 20, 2014 I would straight up as your dietician or insurance coordinator if your bariatric office has one. Mine knew all of the answers to my questions.
