Premade protein shakes

Recommended Posts

My fave by far is the strawberry Premier Protein. A pretty close 2nd is the banana Pure Protein.

A few others that aren't bad, just not my top choice include:

vanilla Premier Protein

Cookies and Cream Pure Protein

strawberry Pure Protein

Beyond these, I've tried all others that are available in retail stores around here (GNC, Muscle Milk, Atkins, Weight Watchers, Isopure, Myoplex, LeanBody, ISS, HydroxyCut) and they all either have too little protein to keep me feeling full more than 2 hours or the taste is so bad I can't choke them down.

Unfortunately though, like so much else with this journey, all of our tastes are different. There are plenty of others on here who say they can't stand the ones that I love, etc...

My favorite premade shakes are vanilla Premier Protein (I purchase at Costco) and the Believe shakes from bariatriceating.com.

Where do you buy Pure Protein? Does anyone have a problem with lactose intolerance? I tried the Premier Protein (yep Costco) and couldn't handle them because of the lactose. In the past I've used a Soy based Protein shake called Slim Quest which I got online. 20gms. of Protein each and pretty good taste, but I'm not sure if I should use so much soy protein. Will ask at my pre-op appointment.

I buy the Pure Protein from Vitamin Shoppe.

They sell the cans individually to experiment with, but also in cases which brings the cost down a bit. I believe they also have them at GNC too.

The unjury ones were pretty good. The banana one was tolerable. We had a tasting at nutrition counseling. They can be mixed with whatever and they will send you samples.< /p>

I've only seen Unjury in powder form. Where did you find it already premade?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
