Not bad on this end sticking to it pretty well. Though today I've cut a few trees out they fell on the road and tilled the garden so I am feeling a bit hungry but I'm pushing through. Need more Water I suppose haha

Spent all day cooking for my family. Cook for the next 3 weeks. I put the food in the freezer, this way I do not need to worry about what they will eat during the week. Everything is ready. post-225635-14149776842635_thumb.jpg

Down 12 lbs since I started my unofficial pre op diet that started a week before my pre op. Feeling great but I've been gutting a building that I will be remodeling in a few months and I've been starving.

9 more days haha

I'm down 15 on pre op. Anyone else's skin dry? I'm thinking it's from the lack of fat in my diet and the weather change in NY

Now that I have finish planning and have nothing but my thoughts I am feeling a little depressed. Not sure why, but while I was running around trying to make sure that everything was set for my family, I didn't have to really think about much. But now everything is done and I feel like focusing on myself is making me depressed. I saw a woman at my job yesterday eating a bag of chips and I thought to myself I'm going to miss some salt vinegar chips. I'm scared, I'm scared of not being able to eat the foods I want to eat, I'm scared of the pain after the surgery, i'm scared of something going wrong during the surgery, I'm scared of not being successful. Having second thoughts. Just woke up feeling like I wanted to cry. Not to mention I am hungry and I don't feel well.

OMG, all the commercials on TV are about food, McDonald's, Burger King, Italian food, everything is about food. It looks so good, going on day five of the liquid diet. ????

Hang in there! I'm getting banded on Tues the 11th and I had second thoughts too. It *is* scary. But I see how successful people are with WLS and I want that too. Just review all the reasons why you decided to this. And then think about the things that scare you and what you can do about them: if you have pain after surgery you can work with your Dr to get meds (plus I hear walking is great); if you're not success after surgery, meet with your Dr / nutritionist / psychologist to discuss why, and make a plan to get on track, or visit these boards for support and advice. If you miss certain foods, it might stink, but you can work on finding foods that you can eat that you love, and remember it's worth it. It won't be an easy journey it doesn't have to be an impossible one.

Good luck!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
