pinkbunies 359 Posted October 18, 2014 I'm getting sleeved next week and so far, only minor fears... but I'm definitely going through with it. I've asked the coordinator how soon I can expect to get back to work and I've had different answers I'm only 54 lbs over weight, but I have had weight issues forever. I'm wondering if anyone could tell me how long I can expect to be in pain and taking pain pills? I'm hoping 30 days or less. I at least know that i'm going to be a wimp after this is done. I imagine myself being in pain on the flight back home. Having my car pick me up, then being lugged home, tired, in pain and just sleeping a lot. I hope I'm just imagining this because I want a fast recovery. The only thing that did make me think about this surgery is I realized that I'm going to have a catheter. OUCH! I know its not that bad, but I do fear it. The cutting, the anesthesia, the recovery, that doesn't scare me much aside from the pain and anxiety. Even losing 80% of my stomach doesn't scare me... just the catheter.
BeagleLover 1,020 Posted October 18, 2014 No catheter was used in my sleeve surgery. I don't understand why you would need one. You're supposed to get up and walk as soon as possible after surgery, so why couldn't you use the bathroom? I would definitely question them on this since it's so important to you.
