LaneiNay 1 Posted October 18, 2014 My last appointment is tuesday the six month program went by pretty fast Im starting to get a little nervous any tips for the liquid diet?
Forsythia 882 Posted October 19, 2014 I am from Chicago (the NW side). Sadly I have no tips about the liquid diet because Northwestern Memorial's program does not have you do a liquid diet. Just a high Protein diet that can be best described as Atkins phase one. Don't beat yourself up or stress yourself out over it though. Just try your best and fill up between meals with Water so you don't focus on hunger.

Kathy812 794 Posted October 22, 2014 @@LaneiNay Hi and welcome to the forum! I am from the south suburbs of Chicago and just got sleeved October 17. The two-week liquid diet is difficult. I will not sugarcoat it. I was instructed to have two Protein Shakes and one meal which consisted of 3 ounces of meat and vegetables. I was starving ! So I admit, I would have salad for lunch w/just a couple tablespoons of Salad Dressing. This helped to hold me till dinner. I also snacked on carrot sticks. I had a hard time drinking sweets all day. My surgeon told me that my liver was a little larger than he wanted it to be, but thankfully he was still able to perform the surgery. I have to ask myself did having salads contribute to to that.... Answer: you betcha! so the takeaway is to follow the plan, stay busy & hopefully you will be one of the lucky one's who has no problems w/the liquids.< /p> Best of luck.
