Help with crushing meds into food/liquid

Recommended Posts

I am having to crush three pills, one antibiotic, hctz and amlodipine and add to food/drink.

tried yogurt, not gonna work, tried crystal light, equally nauseating.

Any suggestions? At this point I am at a loss and would rather just not take them.

applesauce; but small amount as sugar might make you dump. OR; my mom used to just mix crushed meds in a large spoon with Water and sugar. Best to take them, though. Good luck.

I had a big issue with this because of the terribly bitter taste. I never found anything that masked the taste.

As far as applesauce, you can buy unsweetened if you choose to go that route.

I usually have cranberry juice around for that job, it masks bitterness pretty well, or pomegranate or guava juice. Assertive fruits :-) The other idea would be to mush the pills into a tablespoon or two of Water so its like a powdery paste, gulp that down and immediately follow with a spoon of honey, a piece of licorice, or a shot of cinnamon/mint tea. Im banded though, so dont know if these are suitable options for you. Good luck :-)

I use chew-able Vitamins, Calcium, Biotin, B12 and D3. I shove the crushed medicine in with some of those to mask the task. Not perfect but it does mask the awful task of the crushed pill.

I have some meds that are awful when crushed so I mixed them in V8. The Tomato taste masks them pretty good. I tried applesauce but the bitter taste kept coming through and I would throw up.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
