Recommended Posts

So I am getting my kitchen prepared and in the market for a blender for smoothies and pureed foods. I am looking heavily at the NutriBullet. Any thoughts, reviews, suggetions?

Check youtube, I've seen some favorable reviews on the nutri ninja. Whatever you purchase, make sure it has a good warranty.

I have a Nutribullet. It had no probelms for me in the puree stage. I absolutely hated the pureed stage, lol. It is awesome for smoothies. I do notice when I make my Protein Shakes in it, the foam sits on top. I just scrape it off or give it to one of my crumb snatchers.

I currently have a Vitamix. I started the beginning of this year making green smoothies. I started with a Ninja. It was great! After a few months, I upgraded to a Vitamix and I love it. It's a huge investment. Ninja's are great and I've heard really good things about the Nutribullet too. You should be more than good with it.

I love my Ninja. I love it because the motor is on top and removable. I never worry about making sure nothing is loose. The action is in the container below the motor and it is mess free. It can pulverize ice is seconds. Very powerful and easy to use.

I was given a brand new ninja (no warranty) from a blessing of a woman to help me out on my surgery journey. I am hearing great things about both the ninja AND the nutribullet. I don't think you can go wrong with it...most people in my weight loss group have one or the other.

If you are not looking to drop some serious coin on a Vitamix, you might consider the Ninja Ultima. It has a very powerful motor and some very capable attributes. Also, cnet.com, recently did a blender roundup review in August of this year. They cover blenders that fit any budget.

If you are going to use it daily and have the $$$, I love the Blendtec. I bought mine from Sams club when they had a sale. It is easier to clean but it is seriously loud. If you will wake anyone up in the morning I wouldn't suggest it.

We were looking at the Nutri bullet and the Ninja. We ended up going with the Ninja. So far we all love it, especially my daughter. LOL

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
