Ok, well that was a little deceptive, but hey - you're reading right?

Anybody who's had this surgery knows that the funds are gonna be a little low for a few months. So, I'm willing to pay you in good karma and good friendship! Alright, in all seriousness, I would like to find someone that would be willing to take me under their wing. A little about me:

I'm 40. Mom of 2. Step mom of 2. Grandmother to 1. Step grandmother to 5. Married to the love of my life that's 14 years older than me. We've been married just shy of 4 years. I'm a working professional. I live in the south - Georgia. I love to travel, love to cook, love to read. I've been heavy most of my life, and my surgery date is Dec. 18th. My husband is fit and athletic, and 100% supportive. He loves me fat and will love me thin. My whole family and best friends are in total support of my decision.

I'd like to find someone with at least some common interests that is realistic, encouraging and not afraid to tell me the truth, and not necessarily what I want to hear. If you think we'd be a good match, send me a message or a reply.

Wow... I feel like I'm back on a dating site... Hope to hear from someone soon :)

Opposites attract right?

I'm 23 and have no children but an amazing boyfriend of 5 and 1/2 years(ring any day now ;-) ) I live in south jersey I'm sleeved October 30. My boyfriend and I share a love of food and I'm afraid our relationship is based on us sitting/laying around watching movies and eating junk. He's super supportive in everything I do so this is no different. only a few people know all are supportive except one but I told her to pipe down and pretend to support me (haha)

Hope I'm a match! Hehe

Sharon, are you comparing yourself to others? Because I've found in every walk of life, that's never healthy. What are your stats after 5 weeks?

38 pounds in 5 weeks is amazing. I'm at less than that at 7 weeks and I'm ecstatic with my progress thus far. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
