tamg26k 479 Posted November 5, 2014 @@Danny'sGirl @@pik So sorry to hear that both of you. Best of luck and I hope things get better for you real soon. I thought I was developing a stricture before because I couldn't keep things down. I was throwing up about 4-5 time a week. I guess I just was either eating too fast or taking too big of bites (I didn't think I was doing either) I'm monitoring it with my Dr. Office, Knock on wood, it's been over a week since anything has come back up so hopefully I am good. Best of luck!!!
Dhdhshhshd 42 Posted November 11, 2014 Thank you. I just have to wonder if there is something else they can do to keep it from constantly closing. Something along the lines of when a stent is placed in an artery. I have read that sometimes they will use a stent to correct the stricture. Good luck! Mmdulin 23 Posted November 12, 2014 I am in the hospital now for the third time due to a stricture and getting dehydrated so badly. They have been giving me Zofran and Phenergan because I am unable to keep anything down. It has not been fun! I've had one endoscopy done so far and my doctor said that there is just a very small narrowing at the base of my esophagus. I also had a HIDA scan done yesterday after blood tests revealed that my liver enzymes were elevated. The scan revealed that my gallbladder is not functioning properly so it will be removed this week after I am more stable. Right now I am so dizzy and nauseated I can barely walk. This has not been fun at all and had I known that this would be the outcome, I more than likely would not have had this surgery. I hope they are able to help you out! I knew that my life would not be normal as it was before surgery, but I never knew my life would be miserable. Unfortunately I know all to well how you feel. My liver enzymes were elevated both times I was admitted to the hospital and I ended up having pancreatitis. I certainly wish you well!
