tkwyant 5 Posted October 16, 2014 I'm just really reading these so I know what the worst is and wow, they do cause me to pause but then I read all the positive things and think, how often do these things actually happen??? Does anyone know a good number to put on the percentage of people that go thru this??? And how would you know if you were higher risk to have these things happen??? Did any of your surgeons warn you that you were higher risk for these type of complications???
swimbikerun 1,046 Posted October 17, 2014 There are a good number of positive things that happen, but the problem is that we usually don't hear about the bad things going on. Doctors try to cover these things up, hospital admins, etc. I posted FOIA'ed police reports and people got bent out of shape and deleted it. One my groups, the doctors' patients are in charge of the group. Do you think they deleted something that showed their doctor called the cops on someone "not doing anything wrong" by the police? So when it comes to complications who truly knows? I've also had people who were scared to death to say anything because those doctors would blacklist and dump care completely. Surgeon don't always know. I should have had my gastroparesis get better after the surgery. It didn't.
