woo woo 872 Posted January 4, 2015 Yes he is very good. No there is no drain. One night stay in hospital, discharged around 1pm the next day. Allowed to drink/eat same day as surgery. Well, eat liquids like broth and Popsicles anyway.

newlifeb 1 Posted January 6, 2015 I had rny bypass by dr nicholson December 30th. I stayed 2 nights in hospital - my pain is still tremendous. Only relief I get is when I'm on my back. Sitting, standing, getting up, getting down... All hurt me SO bad. Idk if I have low pain tolerance or what but I feel like it's not even getting a little better. sandy called me today to check on me and I told her I can't get control of my pain she wants me back in the clinic tomorrow. I feel like such a wus... But I can't get any relief other then when I lay down

ChronicJam 40 Posted January 7, 2015 Newlifeb, I had the same unbearable pain. Kind of lower left, between the indented "dimple" and the lowest incision? It was awful. Nothing helped it, then just one day, it was gone! It's almost like a nerve pain. I slept on the couch propped up with pillows so I wouldn't move during the night and aggravate the pain. You are NOT a wuss! I have a very high pain threshold, and it brought me to tears. I've had seven surgeries and have Fibro, 3 autoimmune diseases, and small Fiber neuropathy and this was BY FAR the worst pain I've ever felt. Hang in there! It gets better, I promise! I'm only 4 weeks out (12/8).
Kings13 2 Posted January 9, 2015 I had my sleeve done by Dr Nicholson and Dr Carlton on Dec 2 and I'm having a stall in my weight loss. I haven't lost anything in 12 days. Has anyone else experienced this?? I am getting between 6-800 calories a day, drinking plenty of fluids, and have really tried to get all my Protein in. ChronicJam 40 Posted January 9, 2015 I was sleeved on 12/8 and am in week 3 of a stall. From what Sandy and my NUT (Melanie) told me, it's perfectly normal at such an early stage. Our bodies are trying to get accustomed to the shock it just went through. Maybe you've noticed clothes fitting differently? My scale hasn't budged, but I'm able to wear clothes I haven't in a loooong time! 6-800 calories is about normal for us at this point. I know it's frustrating! I'm about to go bonkers not seeing a change in numbers, but hang in there. Keep doing what you're doing!
Kings13 2 Posted January 10, 2015 I have noticed a change in my clothes. Put on a pair of jeans I haven't worn in 2 years! That being said, I would LOVE to see that scale go down...at least a little! I saw the nurse today and she said the stall was normal, but she suspects mine is due to not getting enough Protein. I knew she would say that, lol. I am going to do much better from today on bc she said just getting in 30g more of Protein a day will help me see the scale go down. Thanks for the encouragement! Maggietcu2 55 Posted June 5, 2015 I am meeting Dr. Roshak at Nicholson Clinic later this month. Everyone still happy with their care and progress? Anything I need to be sure to ask about? Thanks!
