New Discovery for Liquids

Recommended Posts

I have recently discovered millies Savory Teas. They are amazing! Only 19 calories each - they are a mix of green tea and Soup. It comes in a tea bag and is super handy for fill days, I imagine they would be fine as Clear Liquids as well. I don't work for the company, but I wanted to spread the word about this product because they really are a great alternative hot liquid. They are also vegan! (My favorites are Indian Spice and Tortilla Soup, but get the sample pack and try them all - they are all good!)

Great find! Have to remember this for WLS patients going into pre-op and post-op diets.

I see I can order it through Amazon or online from millies. Did you find it in a store?

I just ordered the 3X5 pack from Amazon. Should be great for Breakfast?

I think it is better to order from the web site than from Amazon. I got free shipping and they offer more options for different products on the web site. I don't think it is available in stores. I started with the 5 flavor variety pack and now I know what refill packs I want to order. If you go on their web site they also have something called "Millie's Jump Start," which I ordered as well. It's awesome to mix with the broth for breakfast and has replaced my first cup of coffee in the morning (I still have a cup when I get to work).

The web site is http://milliessavoryteas.com/

Received my order and tried the Spicy Tortilla flavor this morning. Not all that spicy but it's still quite tasty. I'm a little sensitive to caffeine and alcohol since surgery so the caffeine in the green tea gave me a good buzz and reduced my hunger. I would also highly recommend these teas for anyone on the pre and post op surgery diets. Or, for we banders, post fill for a day or so?

I don't know of one. I bought mine on Amazon, free shipping and also Millie's is free shipping.

I tried the Facon today. Still good but didn't taste much like bacon, just tasted like beef broth.

I don't think they are available retail, unless you live in Seattle, then they have them at Pike Place market. You might want to email them and ask - they have excellent customer service!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
