Ok, so maybe I need to change it. A couple of websites said my ideal weight is anywhere between 140-160.

Hmmm.....That's a big gap! Myabe when I get to 160 I'll re-evaluate.

Today was the first time someone commented on my weight loss. They just asked if I have lost weight and said I looked good. I was thrilled, finally someone noticed.

Ammylynns, your last post was well said. From my highest weight to today,I have lost 80lbs. Most people do not comment verbalize noticing any weight loss. I have 80lbs to go. I haven't made it to the regular size clothes.. I envy all of you who have made that accomplishment! Perhaps, 25 more lbs. I am dressing myself in a more trendier way.

Most people I know don't say. One friend said they think it would be rude. (Like they didn't notice I was fat!!) Then people I hardly know say things like, "So you had your surgery!" Go figure. I'm still in fat clothes, but I'll make it to the regulars one day!

I have been working on not overfilling the pouch. Doing good since my last throwing up attack 10 days ago but I have noticed I am hungry now. Not a huge hunger but a couple hours after I eat I feel hungry again. Anyone feeling the same? I drink hot tea and it helps a lot. Because I am eating even smaller portions, it may be causing the hunger.

Wildgoose, I could only laugh at your post. Fat clothes... before the surgery I never referred to my clothes as fat clothes, although knowing the bitter truth of it! However, I can say fat clothes without any issue.. because I know the fat clothes days are coming to an end!

I was told by a coworker that I need to watch what I eat because so and so lost alot of weight really quick then gained it right back. I didnt know what to say so I told the coworker that she she should look into the surgery it could help her cpap & diabetes. Then she said well another coworker did really well but she is an exception. Geez I dont know if I am wearing my heart on my sleeve but please dont compare me to other employees that had the surgery. It can be very discouraging. I have lost 87 pounds in 3 1/2 months. This is my journey.

That's the best way to look at it. This is your journey, no one else knows how you are doing. The fact is the vast majority of people do just fine. The ones that put the weight back have other issues/surgeries. We can all imagine what it would take to eat more then what we are eating. An all out effort because I can't overeat even if I wanted to. Not all WLS surgeries are the same. Ours is the most restrictive and with the best chance of success, always remember that.

LisaCO, I think it is 10 percent who gain the weight back, yet those are the stories that people will tell you. No wonder people don't talk about their operations.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
