CLOUD bread RECIPE- not exactly like real bread but so versatile.

3 whole large eggs, 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar, 3 tablespoons of cottage cheese and 1/2 packet of sweetener.

You will need 2 medium mixing bowls. Preheat oven to 300 degrees

1.Separate the egg white from the yolks and place them in separate bowls.

2. Add 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar to the egg whites and beat until it forms stiff peaks (like merengue)

* set to the side

3.Add 3 tablespoons of cottage cheese and 1/2 packet of sweetener to the yolks and blend until smooth (cottage cheese may not completely break down, but is okay)

4. Gently fold the mixtures together being careful not to break down the stiffness in the eggwhiite mixture.

* LIghtly coat a cookie sheet with non stick spray.

- scoop the mixture onto the cookie sheet to about the size of a McDonald's bun. About 3/4 inch high. Mixture should make about 8 - 10 scoops.

- place the sheet into the oven for 30 minutes

- bake until the tops turn a light golden brown, again about the color of a McDonalds bun.

- remove sheet from oven, remove each lice and let cool on a cooling rack or cutting board.

You can eat once they are completely cooled but they will have a merengue texture to them.

FOR BEST RESULTS AFTER PIECES HAVE COMPLETELY COOLED, PLACE IN A ZIPLOCK BAG OR CONTAINER OVER NIGHT. THEN ENJOY!

Ideas for this bread:

Grilled cheese -fat free cheese

sugar free jelly- seedless

Babybell soft cheese wedges

Turkey chili- Beans = Protein

Grilled Tomato and fresh thin sliced mozzarella with a light balsamic drizzle.

Yes! And I'm working full time...with 5 kids at home. :(

Has your Dr. ran labs at all? Might be something you're lacking that they can take care of.

I'm evidently dehydrated, but it sounds like you're at least getting your Water in?

Looks like I'm heading to the ER this afternoon. My Dr. called this morning to check on me because she knew my labs showed I was dehydrated the end of last week, but was hoping I could get on top of it over the weekend. Nope, and dizzy, have a headache, feel like I'm in a fog--like my head is floating. So weird!

But.....I'm at work right now and can't leave until 2:00! Then I have my daughter's conference (which was just moved up from 3;30, whew!) and THEN I'll go!

She also said she talked with my surgeon (the "she" is the PA that handles all the after care, love her) and he'd like to me have an upper GI with a slow bowel follow through?? Or something like that--said it'd take 4 hours! Geesh! So that's Monday because this week is too crazy to try and take another day off. Unless they want to do it on Thanksgiving! :D Not like I can freaking eat anyway!! I think they're looking for strictures?

Back on liquids for now. She said I can have yogurt and cottage cheese. The cottage cheese sets well, but yogurt is a toss up depending how picky my tummy is at that moment. I think it's just because my tummy didn't adjust to the "chunkier" type pureed foods. Tuna/ veggies. I don't know, but guess it's good to rule out the bad stuff.

I'm sorry Amylynns, keep us posted! No, I don't see my doc or P.A. until Dec. 5th and I don't know if it's routine for them to run labs then or not. Maybe just based on how I'm feeling? Bless your heart, at least I don't have kids at home! But I do work full time but I'm surely not earning my pay!

I will, thanks!

It might be worth just calling in to run that by them. And the foaming...what is up with that anyway?? Drinking too fast? Too much? I get that too. SOOOO uncomfortable!!

I'm not earning my pay either, LOL---but getting done what "has" to be done. No energy to do more at this point.

I just got my first foaming. I had a banana and within minutes I was nauseous and ran to the bathroom to throw up. This never happened before and up came foam. Painful and I couldn't stand or sit so I ran like a chicken with it's head cut off. That was horrible. I am not having a banana again. I am going to bed because now I feel like crap. Wow!

Well the scale finally moved- I'm so happy! Also, for some reason, my food and Water are going down so much better. Before yesterday there was a very "tight" feeling in my chest and stomach as the food or water moved down, (like rubber bands around my intestines) but magically yesterday that stopped and I'm able to drink especially and not have it get stuck in my throat. It is such a relief!

i an can drink Ice cold water today. The feeling in your chest I described it as a pressure like you have to burp but no burp comes out. I saw the doc today and he said its normal and it should resolve.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
