I'm on my way to the ER now. The doctor sent me. No nausea or vomiting though and with a stricture there would be.

Was talking to the patient care tech here in the ER who had the surgery 10 months ago and she said it could be a problem with me being able to drink thin liquids

@@layknee hope they figure out soon. Water is not my friend post surgery, cramps and liquid burps immediately, though Powerade zero is ok so far.

What are your favorite flavors of Powerade zero? I am making an epic shopping trip tomorrow. I feel like I live in Alaska and I am making my yearly pilgrimage to Anchorage from chicken (a real place named chicken, wow). Last time there were so many colors of "Gatorade" and so on, I was overwhelmed and in a hurry, I gave up.

Hey all, weighed in at 168, haven't seen that in 15 years. With my short height and lower bmi at surgery time, it did not take long, long ways to go.

Also, had to get a treat for some guys who repaired my bumper while I was not driving. Went to a gourmet cupcake shop. Amazed that I could not even smell the buttery sweetness u know was there. No desire at all, and I love cupcakes.

Last amazed at no headhunger, and really no appetite. Hope everyone else is the same.

I like the blue, orange and strawberry. The red fruit punch tends to be too strong and the lemon lime reminds be of the bowel prep at this point

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
