DISAPPOINTED & ANGRY

Recommended Posts

I'm doing good and calming down and losing the crazies.

Glad to hear it! Ironically, I'm in a four-week-long stall myself. After losing 70 pounds in the first three months, I've lost 5 in the past month. Intellectually, I know what's going on; but emotionally, that scale is a real bastard!

WOW - 70 lbs - that is awesome. I know you're so happy and most likely feel so much better. Even with my 15/17 lbs loss, I can tell a difference. I freaked out the first part of the week and everyone in this forum really helped with their encouraging words of reality. Some. I was unaware of. I was sleeved 9/16/14. That's only 4 weeks ago. But I think the recovery time and being at home makes it seem like a lot longer. But in doing the numbers - I'm not doing so bad. And thanks for the calorie note. I was concerned about not reaching that goal. No matter how hard I try - just can't get there. So it's good to know - I'm normal. However my kids might argue that point LOL. Thanks again. It's good to know we're all in this together ????. And great job on your loss thus far ????. Molly

These posts are so encouraging and really needed to read it today. I too was down in the dumps thinking the weight isn't coming off fast enough. I now have a new outlook on things and putting the scale away for a while. I am exactly one month post-op and down 22lbs. I've never lost 22lbs in a month before. I'm in a stall right now but I'm waiting it out and looking ahead towards my goal!

Good job !!!! I was sleeved 9/16/14. I've been wobbling back b forth with 17 and 19.8 lbs lost. I'm good with that. However just curious if anyone has , what I call "good days and bad days" - meaning : feeling great one day and terrible for the next 3 days. I had a few complications which caused me to stay in the hospital for 3 nights. I have episodes with nausea out of the blue. Diet hasn't changed. I'm sticking with puréed foods for a little longer. But the nausea just ruins my pretty Fall days. Any ideas ?

Yes u still have lost weight you are no longer 221. I like to keep a pair of pants preferably jeans that are to small and every few days I just keep trying them on until they not only fit better and looser but you can tuck a shirt In and wear a belt.

The scale won't tell you clothes fit better but those clothes will tell u that your body is getting smaller and losing inches:) be patient and try to just weigh in once a month. Try the jeans thing it works. And you can do it withs tight shirt also :)

You got this.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
