When Do You Eat Your Largest Meal

Recommended Posts

Just curious as to when everyones eats the largest meal for the day? lunch or dinner.< /p>

Personally, I have my larger meal for dinner when I can sit down with the family. Also wondering if this has anything to do with the rate at which I'm loosing weight.

So What does everyone else do??? :hungry:

I try and eat 4 or 5 meals a day - to keep my matabolism going. I know all the lap band rules say 3 meals, but the 4 or 5 mini meals is working for me, so why change? I usually have my largest one at lunch but they are pretty much evenly spaced out with the portion sizes.

I'm telling you, the thing that has boost my weight loss is weight training, I've started lifting weights 3 weeks ago, along with cardio 5 x's per week, and my loss this month is more than the last two months. So, I can see a big difference.

I would say I get the most Protein in at dinner. I can typically eat 2 slices of beef. I read an article about a diet where people eat their biggest meal in the a.m. and they really shed the lbs. You may want to try that or just try and consume a smaller portion at dinner.

lunch and dinner are about the same for me. I usually just have a Protein Drink for breakfast. I have read many times that it is better to have your larger meal earlier in the day, as you are more likely to burn off any extra calories.... but I just cant seem to do that, lol. I am not a breakfast eater.

dinner all the way. I get full real fast during the day time. When I get up I want to eat but I am a bit to tight for a real meal. I am a coffee person and then I eat a small lunch. I have a couple Snacks, but it's dinner that I get a good meal in. My doctor wants me to eat 6 small meals. I have to keep working on that.

It depends on what day it easy.During the week i would have to say lunch is my biggest meal. On the weekends, Probably Breakfast, or dinner..I usually don't eat much during the day..

thank you all. I was trying to figure if the time of day I eat my largest made a difference in how I loose weight, it's not coming off like I think it should. I guess I'm really impatient.

I eat 6 very small meals throughout the day, I find its much easier for me to handle. Sometimes the 6th meal is a hit or miss....sometimes I have it, sometimes I don't.

1 can of Soup a day, serving size two. I hate eating the roasted garlic potato soup, becasue of the carbs 18 carbs per serving and 180 calories per serving, but it is soo good! Then I add shredded cheddar cheese and real bacon bits in it!! It's too GOOD!!! I'm addicted to Vitamin Water too!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
