Hi!! check into Dr. Lopez, Dr. Osuna, or Dr. Venezuela in Tijuana. They are all excellent surgeons. Paying cash you could have it done in 3-4 weeks.

GOOD LUCK with your journey and keep us all posted!!!

I am going through "alighterme" with Dr. Ortiz. With all my researching this is whom I will be using on my surgery nov 24. They have a great reputation. I am more than satisfied on my research on him, his results, and this company. If you have any questions about my decisions feel free to write or private message me.

I used ALIGHTERME, Dr E. Ortiz on sept 4 th 2014. My BMI was 36.5. I'm down 24 lbs, feel great and have had zero complications. I paid $4400.00 which included hotel, transportation and all liquids and Jello I could eat.

The company was very professional, everyone spoke. English and the Drs. Were fantastic.

I have zero regrets!

Packerfan61964, through which Medical Tourism company did you book with Dr. Osuna, and how has the follow up been? I am scheduled with Dr. Lopez in December for a single incision sleeve. Also how are your surgical incisions healing?

OCSlim, I havent had surgery yet. I am having mine on October 30th. I went through Specialized Bariatrics. I first I was going to use Dr. Lopez.......but there was a little confusion in the booking because he will be in Guadajalara that week, so they told me that his wife, Dr. Osuna, was available in Tijuana that week. I've had 2 friends use Dr. Osuna and 1 use Dr. Lopez......so I am confident with either surgeon.

I used A Lighter Me and Dr. Elias Ortiz. I went alone and had a wonderful experience. I am a month out and have had no problems. I do recommend them.

Packerfan61964, I'll be pulling for you, and can't wait to hear about your experience and wonderful results. You'll be through the worst part of the healing when I'm going in for surgery!????

I was sleeved by Dr. Lopez on August 13th in Puerto Vallarta. I'm 45 lbs down and am feeling awesome! Had a great experience working with Cathy Zimmerman at Specialized Bariatrics--she was always very accessible via phone or email. AnaKaren was my patient coordinator in PV. I saw Dr. Lopez once before my surgery and twice after. I'm SO happy I had this surgery. It takes care and work (eating correctly and being super dedicated to exercising properly), but it is an amazing tool I have promised myself I will not squander. It's a "forever" change that should be taken seriously and embraced. Best of luck to all on your journey!

Freebird14,

Thank you for sharing your experience and fabulous success! It is so encouraging! Did You happen to have Dr. Lopez perform the single incision technique, and if not, how large were your incisions and how are they healing? Thank you!

Does Ortiz do single incision sleeve?

EagleS12,

I haven't heard anything about Dr. Ortiz performing the single incision technique. So far the only one I know of in Mexico who does it, is Dr. Lopez. If you hear about anyone else, please let me know!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
