PittsburghRNYgirl9814 18 Posted October 11, 2014 I have been on the soft diet phase for about a week now and am trying to get in more meat/fish and no matter what I do I cannot tolerate chicken, tuna, or turkey. My NUT suggested white fish but when I bake them (tilapia, cod) they are too dry. Any ideas on sauces or other ways to cook fish to make it easier to eat? Larly109 19 Posted October 11, 2014 I would be curious about that too. I can do chicken if it's pureed with something else, but fish or chicken on it's own come right back up.
Bring It On 55 Posted October 12, 2014 I started out with chicken made with chicken salad. I would buy it at the Kroger deli, but I would not eat the pecans or the grapes in it. I also picked around it and only ate the part that was very thin and blended well. I also did that with pimento cheese. Gave me a little different taste. The best thing I have come across is Wendy's chili. Comes highly recommended during the soft phase by my nutritionist. Full of Protein, and the meat in it can be easily chewed before swallowing. Betti Boop 21 Posted October 12, 2014 For cooking, have you tried a rice cooker/steamer? Mine has a top rack for it and can put Water or??? In the bottom.
