I had my first fill on Thursday. Today I started back eating regular food. I think I have 3 cc in my 10 cc band. I don't go back until December. For lunch I had a Peanut Butter jelley sandwich on thin wheat bread... No Problem... I had some lentil snaps(tomato) no problem.... Next was my mixed fruit cup in it's own juice... After a couple of bites I got this funny feeling in my throat and here it comes back up... (SORRY) I'm done until Supper... WOW is all i can say.

My dr doesn't believe in snacking and he hasn't told me how much Protein to eat. He just said to continue to9 do what i'm doing and that I'm doing fine.... I know i need to drink more Water....

Well it's a process. One thing I notice from that menu is little Protein besides the Peanut Butter. Lots of carbs and sugars. Can you try starting with solid protein and try not to have carbs except for maybe some veggies? Solid protein holds me longer and satisfies me faster. I tend to not eat so much at the meal and trigger that upchuck you had. Some examples are cheese sticks , almonds, Buddig lunch meat, etc. good luck!

I agree with Justwatch. Also, so many of us find it hard to eat much slower and smaller. I hear people say they follow the rules but still get stuck. I know for me, that if I really follow the rules, I never get stuck. I only get stuck when I'm in a hurry, distracted or just eat way too fast or, when I don't follow the rules.

This part of your journey can be the most difficult to learn. It's so easy to clog the stoma with food not chewed to applesauce consistency and then impact that food with food eaten too quickly and in amounts too large. This causes stuck episodes followed by slime(sliming) and sometimes regurgitation.

But, getting stuck for the first time is a reason to Celebrate. You know your band is there and it's beginning to educate you how to behave in the future. Congrats!

Justwatchme and 2muchfun,

Thanks for your imput.... It's hard trying to prepare meals without a guide. My the big book on bariatric surgery just came in the mail today. So, I'm going to look at it for some menu ideas. My surgeon said nothing about how much Protein I should have. He just told me to stay away from the Protein drinks that he wanted me eating... This is a learning experience.

Hi there, congratulations on starting this new chapter! It's so strange what works and what doesn't. For me something like that fruit may have just gone down too fast -- those slippery foods can be hard to chew up enough and just so yummy it can be too much too fast. Good news is now you know what it feels like, the blapping something up......when I was starting out I had to do some practicing with a timer to force myself to slow down. I was a real shoveler. I still have to make myself put down my utensil between bites -- my natural inclination is to keep going. So even at 11 months I'm still working on it. Quite fun to be a delicate eater now, though -- a dainty little bite, chew, chew, chew. Push the food around on the plate, put the little fork down, wait, pick up for the next wee bite.....oh, that's a thing that's helpful for me -- the smaller utensils. I use demitasse spoons and shrimp forks at home.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
