lmaher718 38 Posted October 11, 2014 Hi all I'm 10 days post op.. On full liquid diet now.. I can take 3-4 spoonfuls of creamed Soup or drink anything.. When it goes down chest area I have pain and instantly get bloated.. WHY?? Then after it feels like it's coming back up... WHATS WRONG?? IS THIS NORMAL?? I feel like I'm not getting enough in during the day cause of this.: I went to Panera bread with my daughter and had a autumn squash Soup and had 4 spoonfuls .. That's it.. Pain and feeling it come back Please need advice
*Lexie* 1,486 Posted October 11, 2014 Totally normal. The feeling in your chest is the Soup stopping before it gets into your stomach. Take much smaller spoonfuls to reduce this effect. And the bloating means you're full. You really just can't eat much right now because of the swelling. Just take it slow.

Delta Dawn 66 Posted October 11, 2014 Imaher718. You are way ahead of me I'm scheduled for Oct. 17 (6 days from today). I went out and bought baby spoons. A friend that is 7 months out told me how hard it was for her to learn to take small bites. I fear that I will be the same way so I'm using baby spoons to help train my brain and hopefully keep me from becoming ill. As crazy as it sounds it might just be something you could try as well. Good luck!!
lmaher718 38 Posted October 11, 2014 Thank you for reply funny you say that I did take smaller bites still had the pain but not bloated.. I used this time a long ice cream Sunday spoon.. Much smaller than what I used before.. Good luck to you in your new life... I have lost almost 20lbs so far and already feel lighter.. I know it's all a healing process.. Keep me posted on how you do.. Would love to hear from you ????❤️????
