I was sleeved Sep 26 and recovery has been well! Have lost about 24 pounds since surgery. And my doc said I could start soft/puréed foods. I had my wife scramble an egg and I was only able to take a couple bites, not because that was all I could take, but more afraid, that I might mess something up down there. Got my appt with my VA doc to start my B12 injections, as recommended by my surgeons office, I also got, from VA doc too, prescriptions for all the daily Vitamin supplements, but I'm scared to take them whole and I hate the crushed versions...any suggestions? But all in all recovery has not been bad

As long as you eat slowly, you should be able to eat a few bites without worry. No more than a half cup at once. Pause between bites and stop at the first sign of pain or full feeling.

I ordered chewable Vitamins from celebratevitamins.com. You can also buy chewable or gummy vitamins from the drug store. I was told not to take Vitamin pills/capsules until after a month out.

Glad you're feeling well!

@@poginut

you are not gonna hurt your new little tummy

its ok to be a little cautious/scared about eating too much

less is more??

work with the sleeve and it, and it will work with you :)

better not to push the food/over eat :)

but after a while

GET OVER IT :o

you must gradually eat more food

follow your NUTS words to how much you should eat

good idea from @@thesuse2000 - they should do the trick :)

glad you are doing well :)

that is wonderful :)

24 lbs down :)

continued speedy recovery :)

keep up the good job :)

kathy

congrats :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
