Will do. Though you might not like it when I do, when my husband finds out where you live, he'll be asking you a million questions. He wants to visit Alaska very badly.

Do you know how come Dr. Valenzuela isn't listed as one of the surgeons on this site? Or Mi hospital? I'm booked there with her and it kind of gives me pause to see that huge list of surgeons and facilities and not see either. TIA

i have no idea why this site doesn't list her but lots do , did lots of research on her before i made my decision and anyone that has done over 2500 surgeries without a hitch is qualified , my doctor here in canada has a partner who can perform these surgeries so he had him look into her and said i'm in great hands , there is lots of testimonials about her out there as well as sites that reference her , here is 1

@@smb0187 I pray that you are having a fast and easy pain free recovery after your gastric sleeve surgery. I'm thinking about getting mine done with Dr Fernando Garcia too. I like that he does the single incision laparoscopic sleeve. Let me know how it all went when you are ready ok? Thank you :)

Everything has gone great so far. No complaints at all. I didn't get the single incision though just so you're aware. His team has been great! I leave to go back home tomorrow.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
