melanndoll 92 Posted October 10, 2014 Starting vomiting bile last night around 7. Hadn't eaten anything since lunch. Throwing up again this morning (water) and my stomach hurts. Just tried to call my surgeons office and the number has been disconnected! What do I do? Should I call my pcp or another surgeons office? Urgent care? Bandista 7,466 Posted October 10, 2014 I would get to urgent care immediately and call my primary care physician's office to let them know what's going on. Get medical attention! And let us know how you're doing. You could have a bug or something -- don't panic. But get yourself seen. It's Friday and you don't want to go through the weekend potentially getting worse. Take care of yourself!
melanndoll 92 Posted October 10, 2014 My concern with UC or pcp is how much do they know about the band? Could they even do an unfill?
toveylapgal 15 Posted October 10, 2014 They could but they probably won't due to liability. Are you sure he's out of practice? Have you physically driven to the office he was in?

mrsto 2,925 Posted October 10, 2014 My concern with UC or pcp is how much do they know about the band? Could they even do an unfill? Google your doctor and see what comes up. If he's MIA, then call the next closest bariatric facility & ask if they know anything. Explain your situation. Vomiting is never fun, but it's tricky with the band. And you are right.....chances are that the doctor at an urgent care isn't going to know how to handle it. If you cannot find your doctor, call another bariatric doctor and tell them what's going on. Ultimately, if your doctor has left the planet, you'll need a new doctor, anyway. I hope you feel better sooner than later.
melanndoll 92 Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) He got evicted and has plans to re open in the future. I just don't want to be over reacting. There are other surgeons that have agreed to see his patients so I could call them. It just really feels like I need to have Fluid taken out whether I have a bug or not. It just doesn't feel normal. Whether you're over reacting or not, call them. It's best to err on the safe side. All that vomiting with the band is not good, and you need to be hooked up with an "up and running" bariatric team. melanndoll 92 Posted October 10, 2014 Thanks for all your support! He used fluoro and barium and you could see it wasn't going through! So cool to see! He took out Fluid until we could see the barium go through. I felt almost immediately better! He put me on sucralfate and we will recheck in a month.
