Anyone else get acne post-op? I have hormonal/PCOS issues and don't ever really have cycles, so I'm wondering if these little acne mean I'm going to start my period.

I didn't post on the ladies forum, I know, I don't care if guys chime in...you never know, you guys might know females that have had surgery and have input for me ????

It's funny you post this cause I'm having acne all of a sudden. Haven't had a break out in awhile. I'm 10 days post op and it started a few days ago. I got my period 2 days post op which absolutely sucked!!!!

I noticed I have little whiteheads on my cheek...Ugh! I hate acne! Although they say that all the hormones are releasing from our fat cells...I hope I don't end up with acne like I had as a teen! Oh the horrors!!!

I have acne issues. When I was in the hospital the steroids I was getting made it go away. As soon as I got home my face was covered with excessive acne that I never saw before. It sucks and I went back to my dermatologist for meds.

I have pcos and dealt mostly with sebaceous cysts and blackheads. Between improved diet, hydration, bare minerals make up, avocado oil instead of cleanser and some seriously smelly drawing salve my skin is a whole new animal today.

I know this is an older thread, but I'm having this problem and I'm hoping others can help. However, my acne is on my chest and shoulders as well. Since I've started loosing I've tried to be more vigilant about moisturizing my face, neck, and chest. I thought this could be the reason, so I stopped applying it to my chest. Then a day or two later I broke out pretty bad (for me). Broke out all over my face and chest. Any suggestions or explanation as to why. I've read when breaking down fat our hormones breakdown as well and I may get little surges of it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
