Hello everyone! I'm post op 3 days and I have to say this is the hardest thing I have ever done. Every time I drink anything, I feel like it's stuck in my chest. I'm on full liquids and only drink about one ounce every 15 mins. I've been walking and passing gas, but it's a bit of a struggle trying to get all my Protein in and I can't. Also having the worst back pain and due to having weak stomach muscles, my surgeon stitched them up to tighten them and that has not been comfortable either. I want to be successful at my weight loss, but I am feeling a bit defeated at the moment. Any suggestions? ????

Thank you!!!! I've been keeping the Water close by and taking sips. Also been keeping an eye on the color of my urine!! Sounds gross, but I want to make sure I'm hydrated! Popsicles sound mighty good! Need to pick me up a box! Glad to know this time shall pass!

Had my RNY on Monday oct 6th, came home yesterday. I have been working on 4 oz of Protein Drink for almost an hour. Very slow going. I'll do what I can in the hour then will go back to getting in water/clear liquids for a few hours. I'll try more Protein after that. Baby steps is my current mantra, no race to be won here. Be gentle with you it will all be ok. Xox

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
