Nutri-bullet? Which food processors work best?

Recommended Posts

Getting ready to get a food processor for making shakes, puréeing food, etc. I don't want to drop a lot of money but want to get the best value. What have you guys had luck with? Thanks!

I'd recommend taking a look more at a stick blender than a food processor. That worked much better for me when talking about pureeing Soups etc...

My advice would be to not spend a lot of money. I couldn't use the blender for drinks it caused too much air in my tummy. I just shook lightly or stirred. I personally had a ninja package i got from Sam's club and i have loved it for years. I heard bad things about blades breaking when using ice for some products. Make sure you check them out. Wish you luck on your journey!

My Ninja sounds fine blending shakes but does not do well with smoothies using ice. I have to shave the ice and add it.

for making shakes I use a product called the Tribest personal blender. it is small light weight and does a great job for shakes and smoothies. i have also traveled with it. It comes with different accessories depending on which package you purchase. Price range $45-$90. I think it does alright on ice, i usually just use a little bit of frozen fruit and it does a great job on that.

I have a bullet and I have found that it makes things VERY airy, like some others here said. I put a little fruit in mine now, so I need something powerful to blend the frozen banana & berries. But I often have to let it sit awhile b/c of the foam on top. I'm 7 weeks post-surg. I didn't blend a whole lot of food, it might not be worth a huge investment. I did soft foods like Soups, the veggies are so soft already they can be smooshed with a fork. On my plan, blended foods was a pretty short phase between pure liquids and soft foods.

Same here on the airy drinks. You are right, when I let them sit for awhile the foam dissipates and then I can drink without problems. It seems worse when I used any milk base

That's great information! Something I hadn't thought of with the extra air! Thanks!

I have a sleeve and bought a breville active blend which I LOVE it's £30 from Debenham so convenient to use and you can keep your fruit intake up. Add avocado and flax seed to help with skin hair nails :-)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
