Not where I expected loose skin

Recommended Posts

I wore shorts yesterday and I've been dropping pretty steady for a couple months. I expected loose boobs and arms and neck and stomach. I NEVER expected for my thighs to have these weird ripples like elephant skin! Not very attractive, lol. I hope it doesn't work it's way down to my lower legs and horrors! My ankle tattoo!!!

Oh yep.... I've got that too. Inner thighs kind of down to my knees. I'm thinking there has to be some kind of "lift" for that.

I carry most of my weight in my hips and thighs, so I definitely foresee a thigh lift in my future.

There are lifts for everything ladies. And a lot of insurance companies will actually pay for some of the work if you get skin breakdown or it impedes your movements etc. Start documenting things with your doctor, a dermatologist, and pictures so that way if and when the time comes, you have your bases covered.

Yes, definitely. I've been documenting things with my PCP for several months now and he thinks I have a good chance of having my stomach and arms covered. I think I would be on my own though for the thigh lift......

I have loose saggy skin on my thighs and butt more than anywhere else. It hasn't migrated to my calves and ankles, though. The sagginess in my face, neck, arms and tummy firmed up pretty well, but not from the waist down. Of course that's where I carried most of my weight the longest, so I'm not surprised. I will never look good in shorts or a skirt, no matter how much I lose. Good thing I live in the mountains where it's only above 80 maybe 2-3 weeks out of the year.

Glad to know it's not just me! My upper body has stayed pretty good. It wasn't until wearing shorts that I could see where it had drooped. I've list a lot of weight quickly over the last couple of months. My weight was mostly in my stomach and hips and butt...you know!

I have that loose drapey skin on my inner thighs, but my legs have always been skinny from about 3 or 4 inches above the knee on down, so I can still wear shorts and skirts. I also had a lot of side boob fat that does the same thing. I can just shove that into my bra. Not sure how my tummy is gonna pan out. That is where a lot of my fat still resides. Not sure how well it will turn out.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
