JCP 619 Posted October 8, 2014 I am one month out. When does this return to normal? (Please tell me it does.) Does anyone know why this happens?
Miaoreo 134 Posted October 8, 2014 Honestly I don't know the scientific reason why. I have a theory that as your body changes to burning fat everything in your digestive system changes also. Including saliva. Hence things taste different. But that is just my theory.
I will what I want 271 Posted October 8, 2014 My Nut said it was from being in Ketosis. (Burning stored fat for fuel). And that it would likely go away in maintenance.

momohime 121 Posted October 8, 2014 I stayed on prescription Prilosec for a while and that definitely affected the way things tasted. Even Water tasted weird and metallic to me. Now that I've been able to stop taking Prilosec daily, things are tasting much more normal. So.. I think medication is part of the equation too.
